What are the benefits of printing with specialty films instead of screen printing?
When do I need to use a teflon pad?
How do I find a good apparel supplier?
Who are my potential customers?
Should I charge a set-up fee?
With screen printing, it is hard to do short run orders. With specialty films, you can print one or a hundred without any added expense. There are no inks to mix, no drying to worry about. You simply design your image, send it to the plotter like you would a sign, and press.
A teflon sheet should be used to cover your apparel if you are double pressing or layering. They cost around 10.00 and can be purchased on our supplies page.
When you become one of our customers, we will send you a packet with your first order that will give you contacts for all kinds of apparel and hats.
Many businesses charge a set-up fee. However, you will find that as a sign shop, many of your customers will be businesses that you will be making signs etc for anyway that you already have their image saved. Many people would buy t-shirts for small teams if they did not have to pay a set-up fee. Since you only have time in designing your apparel and have no money invested in screens, it may be to your advantage to advertise that you charge no set-up fee. You can easily work your labor cost into the price of your apparel without scaring your customers off with a large set-up fee. Charging a set-up fee is entirely up to you and can also be based on competitors pricing.
You will be surprised at how many customers you will attrack because you can easily run short run printed apparel. And most of the time, as word spreads, you will get many return customers along with new ones. Below you will find several customer targets.
*Schools * Sports Teams * Churches * Fund Raisers * Little League * Political Parties * Businesses * Your own Business * Race Tracks *

Is there a difference in heat transfer films?
Absolutely. Before we chose a heat applied material to sell, we tested several different companie's films. There is a difference without being much of a difference in price. We have found that these films weed well, stays on the shirt well, and that they supply a high quality film. You can save yourself alot of frustration by staying with a company that you can trust to supply you with the best film quality possible. We sell no knock off equipment or materials.
